Heard this explanation on a podcast. Those who are backers of Trump take him seriously but never literally - those who are not backers, take him literally but never seriously. There could be something to that. I say, beware those who take him literally and seriously.
Speaking of those who don't take him literally, I was amused by the meeting of Trump and Barack Obama at Jimmy Carter's funeral service and Trump and Gavin Newsom in LA. From a distance and by words alone, they seemed like old buddies reacquainting themselves with each other. Who woulda thunk it?
I was never one who likes to quibble over price. I'm willing to walk away if I don't like it. The usual bartering over price goes something like this: an item with a price tag of $5 that you want for $4 you would offer $3 hoping to get your price. In the other direction, if you are selling an item that you want as much as you can get that is valued at $5, you ask $7 for it hoping to get $6 if you can. Trump's book, The Art of the Deal, and his actions instruct to ask for $20. Be outrageous! Let people laugh. Set new standards. If he wants an inch he doesn't ask for a foot, he asks for a mile. Get used to it.
If you want to do something, do it. If it's wrong, someone will tell you. It's easier to say "you're sorry" than to say "I wish I would have tried."
