Do you know the word hallowed? It means sacred, holy, revered. It is used in the prayer we call the Our Father. In it, we ask or affirm that His name is or should be hallowed. Hallows would be those that are sacred, holy and or revered. Halloween is the day before the Christian feast honoring all the saints. It is the eve of the day of the hallows.
Monday's quiz was for baseball fans. In case it even slightly interests you, here are the answers. These are Major League Baseball's most extreme records - likely to never be broken.
4256 hits in a career Peter Edward Rose
232 bases on balls in a season by a batter Barry Bonds
5,714 strike outs by a pitcher in a career Nolan Ryan
2,632 consecutive games played Cal Ripken
191 runs-batted-in in a season Hack Wilson
56 games in a row with at least one hit Joe DiMaggio
262 hits in a season Ichiro
511 wins in a career by a pitcher Cy Young
73 home runs in one season Barry Bonds
1,406 stolen bases in a career Rickey Henderson
IMO the records above most likely to be broken are the single season batting records.
