Tomorrow is the "BIG GAME". I well remember when there wasn't a "BIG GAME" - well, not quite so big. Cold Play and Beyonce headline the halftime show at Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco. One time, the Super Bowl halftime show included the Anaheim High School marching band, drill team and flag girls.
Every Super Bowl has been a sellout except the first one. In January 1967, they were unable to fill the LA Coliseum at the exorbitant price of $12.00 per seat. It was called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game because the two leagues had yet to combine.
Two college bands played the National Anthem at that first Big Game. This year Lady Gaga will do the honors.
The cost of a thirty-second commercial for that first game was $42,000. This year, you will have to fork out $5,000,000.00 for a thirty-second slot.
