In our country, you will find that a yoga instructor will sometimes greet and always say at the end of class, "Namaste". The word is spoken with a slight bow, hands together with fingers pointing to the heavens and thumbs to the chest. The chest is where the heart is located; it is the 'chakra' (part of your body) that holds your spirit. This word and gesture is an affirmation that each of you has a soul, a spirit and thus are connected. It is a common greeting in most of South Asia.
In the ancient Sanskrit language of India, 'Namah" means bow, the 's' ending means I and 'te' means you; put together "Namaste" would translate to, "I bow to you."
That is a beautiful thought. Much deeper than 'Hello' or "Good morning". It is so humble.
