PLASTIC

PLASTIC

What a 'wonder material' plastic is. When I was growing up, seeing anything made of plastic was rare. We even made fun of things that were made of plastic because it meant they were cheap. Japanese products were often made of plastic materials when American made ones were not. We thought Japanese products were cheap. Now it seems everything is made of plastic and Japanese products are as good as any in the world.

Plastic, you know, is short for thermoplastic resin. Plastic is not only its name but a quality of the material. Plastic means it can be molded into a desirable form. Most plastics we use are not in the plastic mode. They can no longer be formed. They are thermoset.

People are plastic. Some are more plastic than others. Young people are very plastic. As we age, we become less plastic; more set in our ways. Its natural. If you want to control a country, get to its young people. Hitler knew that. Today's terrorists know that. Lord pray for us.
