THE REDS

THE REDS

Its hard not to get a little excited about the Cincinnati Reds. With Houston they have more wins than any other team in baseball...more road wins than any team in baseball...more walks than any team in baseball...more home runs than any team in baseball...more doubles than any team in baseball...more runs than any team in baseball...more RBI than any team in baseball...more shutouts than any team in baseball except Houston...starting pitching that seems to be solid enough...relief pitchers getting the job done............. Well, are you excited yet?

You had better hold on. The Reds have more errors than any team in baseball...given up more home runs than any team in baseball...given up more runs than any team in baseball...have the worst fielding percentage in baseball............. Well, are you depressed yet?

Let's don't get ahead of ourselves. It's still April and they've played half of the season without Ken Griffey Jr and Jason LaRue. Eric Milton, who pitched well, has gone to the disabled list and Paul Wilson has been on the DL all season.

A three game matchup with Houston starts tonight and two with St. Louis follow. Things may be a little more clear by next Wednesday when they're on the plane to Colorado. No team really settles in and finds its level until the 4th of July. Lets hope we're still excited on my birthday.
