PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT

PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT

Performance enhancement is a locomotive that has pulled out of the station. Its building steam and probably can't be stopped. It IS the medical future.

Professional and amateur sports organizations are fighting it tooth and nail. Anabolic steroids, human growth hormone and the like are the targets. I don't see them winning in the long run. Trains are not easy to stop once they get moving. Science will easily stay one step ahead of detection and prevention.

Performance enhancement is not limited to athletes. Amphetamines, mood altering and pain medications are used by corporate types everyday to improve performance. Even the common man has accepted Viagra and similar drugs as completely acceptable.

Performance enhancement has become acceptable. I can't see it doing anything but spreading to other parts of our lives.
