HONDA

HONDA

We got a new car last week. It is a Honda.

When Japan first started marketing in the US, (this was in the late 1950's) Honda was considered a very cheap brand name. They brought in a small motorcycle with a small engine that was like a toy compared to the American Harley. Everything from Japan was considered small and inferior. How times have changed.

I've had five Toyota family cars and this is my second Honda. Forty years ago, I would never have owned a "foreign" car. As late as the early 1990's, the company I worked for would not allow anything but an American company car. Times have changed and it is more than just perception. I hope the American automakers catch up. They certainly need to.
