Driving seems like such an automatic thing to us. You are 16 and you drive. I've mentioned it before but I'm still amazed when I think about it. Neither my maternal grandfather nor my maternal grandmother ever drove a car. An aunt (my mother's sister) and at least one uncle (one of my dad's brothers) never drove a car. I never knew either of my fathers parents because they both died before I was born but I assume neither of them ever drove a car. I had a cousin(who was younger than me) that never drove a car.
Cars were invented and became available early in the 20th Century but it wasn't until after World War II that they really became affordable. That's just some 60 years ago. When I grew up, most families had a car. Now, every adult person in every family has a car. We have enough cars. What will the next step be?
