SOFTBALL

OK, here's the scoop. We played. We had about 14 guys there so I opted not to play in the field to start the game. I played two innings at first base. The air was heavy and nobody was hitting the ball hard. I sat on the bench for the first four innings and coached third base. We were home team. In the bottom of the sixth, we were tied at three apiece. Marty Trice, about 22 years old, led off with a single. I batted next and hit a shot between the right and right centerfielder that was an easy triple. I was going into third when they made a throw to get me that went through the third baseman and I scored also. We were up 5-3 and that's the way the game ended. Pretty good for an old fart. Old Guys Rule!

Afterward, Trevor , Lenny, Mark and I went to the Brazenhead. The Jordan family was there with Tim in town. The ladies and kids went home shortly after we got there. Tim, John and Bob stayed along with the guys from our team and Chris Goecke. We drank Guinness and Smithwicks and laughed and told stories until the bell rang midnight. It was a great time.
