ATHLETIC SUPPORTERS

In 1977, Lisa Lindahl was running 30 miles per week on her University of Vermont campus and it was causing her a problem. All that up-and-down, and up-and-down was not good for her. Boomtitty! Boomtitty! Boomtitty!

Two of her classmates decided to solve that problem. They took two men's jock straps, cut them in half and took off one strap on each and sewed the rest together to make the first sports bra. A year later they founded the Jogbra company which is now part of the Champion sporting goods company. Today, over 40,000 sports bras are sold each year. Out of necessity comes invention.
