The locals were a little ticked at the 'boys in stripes' after last week's debacle in Cleveland. Maybe, as bad as I've seen them since Marvelous Marvin got here.
People buy season tickets, buy team gear to wear, brag to outsiders and, in general, adopt the team as their own. They have a monetary investment in and a personal attachment to the team. Now they are hurt. Its like a lovesick 16 year old girl who finds out her boy friend is not as perfect as she thought. Hopefully she figures that out before she gets married. Fans are not that smart.
For his part, Marvin was a little ticked himself. Mysteriously, it seemed he focused his ire not at the miserable defense or special teams but at the media and, by extension, the fans. Big mistake. He had better mend some fences before he gets his ass stuck on a loose piece of barbed wire. It is occurring to people that the only thing that separates Mr. Lewis from the other dummies we've had as head coach, is the good fortune he had to have a first draft choice when one Carson Palmer was available.
