CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

Chris Henry was allowed to go back to practice with the Bengals in preparation for his return in two weeks. They need all the help they can get. A healthy linebacker or two would be a big help.

Dusty Baker kept most of the existing Reds coaching staff. He's looking only for a bench coach and a bull pen coach. Tommy Hume got his walking papers. Maybe he's responsible for the bull pen blowing so many games last season.

In the final week of the high school football season, Hamilton got it started with a 39-14 win over Fairfield on Thursday night. On Friday night, Badin blasted Fenwick 35-7, Lakota West beat East 28-14, Deer Park topped Mariemont 28-3, Turpin skunked Wilmington 41-2 and St. X pulled ahead of Moeller in the second half to win 28-14.

The UC football team has the week off to try to regain their swagger. I don't give them much hope.

Both the Bearcat and Musketeer basketball teams are hard at work. It wont be long 'til tip off.

The Bengals welcomed the Steelers into 'The Jungle' on a bright and clear Sunday afternoon. Cincinnati played about as well as you could expect but they just don't have the horses right now. The final was 24-13 and that about wraps up the season. You have to be a real optimist to continue to believe that the playoffs are in reach.
