SPRING?

Okay, its supposed to rain in the spring. April showers bring May flowers and all that. Just what do May showers bring?

Spring is the transition season from Winter to Summer. Spring is an elastic coil that returns to its original position when stretched or compressed. Spring is a well of water coming from the earth on its own. Spring is a small roasting chicken (or an old-timer like me). Spring is what one does for the check. Spring is how you get into action. Spring is how you get someone out of prison. Spring is a fever that I often get. Spring is a spaniel. Spring is a complete type of house cleaning. Spring is the training baseball teams go through.

The French word for Spring is Printemps from the words for prime temperatures. In Germany it is Fruhling from the word for early. The Dutch use Voorjaar and the Danes Voraar each of which come from the words for fore-year.
