Last night the softball season ended. We lost in the semi-finals to a team we should have beaten. That's the way it goes some times.
We had sixteen guys and we let them all bat. I offered not to play in the field. We were ahead 11-8 going into the sixth inning. Mike Warren, our pitcher, just lost it. He could hardly get the ball over the plate. He gave up a scratch hit and then walked the next two. Another hit and another two walks and we were behind 13-11 with only one out and the bases loaded. They asked me to go in and pitch. I hadn't pitched all year and hadn't warmed up. I retired the next five batters in a row but we couldn't score ourselves and lost 13-11. I was o-2 with a walk and a run scored. So ends the season.
