One of my daughters has been put through a ringer the last 10 days. Her house is without power and, in her case, water as well...which brings her and her children to our house. The poor vagabonds lived with the in-laws for a few days until their generator pooped out. They stayed at the Marriott in sterile leisure for a few days. Now, they have brightened our day.

We've been lucky enough to have grandchildren stay at our house from time to time. But that was always slow and measured as a vacation should be. This is different. Its been a long time since someone has done homework in our dining room. Its been a long time since we got out the ice bag to sooth a sore spot after football practice. Its been a long time since kids lined up to take a shower before bed. Its been a long time since we experienced that morning rush to get all the books and gear together for the trip to school. Yes, it is different, but fun.
