The UC Bearcat basketball team was chosen to finish 11th in the 16-team Big East in two different polls. It might not take much more than that to make the NCAA tournament this year. You think I'm crazy?
Last year, eight Big East teams went to the tournament. Almost no one in the league opted for early-out to go pro. Ten of last year's top 11 rebounders are back and 13 of the league's 18 top scorers have returned. The player of the year is back, the defensive player of the year is back, and the two guys who shared rookie of the year are back. The league appears to be better than ever.
Every Big East game is televised again this year. Every win in the league will be precious. Every road win in the league will be stupendous. It looks like the fun will last at least until March.
