SATISFACTION

Happiness is an elusive state that we all seek. I really feel that every decision we make is based on our attempt to find happiness. That being true, why do we all go different ways? Why would one person's idea of happiness be different than another persons' idea happiness?

I find it easier to grasp this hunt for happiness by looking at it as a hunt for satisfaction. Some people are satisfied with less, some with more and some are never satisfied. It seems to me that you have found happiness if you are satisfied.

Some poor people, satisfied with their lot in life, can be very happy people. Some rich people, constantly looking for more, can be very unhappy. If this is true, should we try to change what we hope for or strive for? Is it not human nature to always want more? If we don't reach beyond our grasp, how will we ever know how far we can reach?

I know this. It brings us happiness when we reach goals beyond what we would have been satisfied to reach. It brings true happiness if our goal was to make others happy and we see that they are.
