On Monday, the UC football team remained at number 5 in the country in the AP and BCS polls.
The UC mens basketball team cracked the AP top 25 at number 22 following their performance in the Maui Invitational.
On Tuesday, the Bearcats walked all over Texas Southern at the "Shoe" and won easily 94-57. Rashad Bishop had 14 points in 21 minutes on 6 of 7 shooting.
On Friday, Winton Woods won the Ohio State division II football championship. Highlands High won the Kentucky State division 5-A championship behind 170 rushing yards and three touchdowns by Austin Collinsworth.
Xavier settled down and took care of Kent State 77-61 at Cintas Center. The scoring was spread over everyone on the roster.
On Saturday, the biggest game in University of Cincinnati football history was played on snowy Pittsburgh's Heinz field. The biggest turned into the most exciting. The Bearcats scrapped to the end, overcame a 21-point deficit and prevailed 45-44. It wasn't pretty but it was beautiful.
On Sunday, the Bengals only had to beat the lowly Lions to move within a game of the division title. They played as ugly as they could and still won 23-13. Since Oakland beat Pittsburgh, Cincinnati can ugly its way into the playoffs without too much trouble.
