On Tuesday, XU hosted LSU at the Cintas Center and ran all over the Tigers 89-65. Terrell Holloway had 20 for the Musketeers.
On Wednesday, UC took on 10th rated Connecticut in the Big East opener for each team. The Bearcats were able to play their game and got a last second foul call you usually don't get to post a 71-69 win. Freshman Lance Stephenson has 21 points including the winning free throws.
On New Years Day, Cincinnati played Florida in the Sugar Bowl. The Gators plastered the Bearcats all over the Super Dome in New Orleans. The final was 51-24 but it wasn't really that close. Florida looked awesome...UC, not so much.
On Saturday, the Bearcat basketball squad was in New Jersey for a league game against the Rutgers
On Sunday, Xavier played at Wake Forest and lost 96-92 in double-overtime. Crawford had 30 for the Musketeers.
The Bengals were in cold New York City to play out the regular season. With the division title and a playoff spot in hand, Cincinnati decided to lay the biggest egg in their long history in the Jets final game at the Meadowlands. For the second time this weekend, a Cincinnati was embarrassed on the football field. The score is not important. The Jets will be in Cincinnati next weekend for the first round of the playoffs and there is little reason to think the results will be any different.
