CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

On Monday, the Bearcats played Pittsburgh before a national audience and lost by a whisker 74-71. Yancey Gates had 16 points and 14 rebounds.

On Wednesday, the Cincinnati hosted Cal State Bakersfield in a non-conference exercise that ended up with the Cats on the good side of a 87-58 win. Dion Dixon had 13 points as everyone scored.

On a snowy Thursday, the Musketeers visited La Salle in a A-10 game. Xavier held on to win 68-62. Jordan Crawford scored 22 and now leads the league in scoring.

On Saturday, the Bengals had a playoff game with the Jets at BPS. Carson Palmer got outplayed by a rookie and Shane Graham missed two makeable field goals to doom Cincinnati to a 24-14 loss despite a great day from Cedric Benson.

Also on Saturday, the Bearcats were in Newark, NJ to play a league game against Seton Hall. Cincinnati gave up an early lead and fell to the Pirates, 83-76. Deonta Vaughn had a season high 20 points for the Cats.

On Sunday, XU too on George Washington on the road and came away with their second straight league win, 76-69. The Musketeers came from 11 down with seven minutes to go to post the win.

It looks like the Reds have signed a 100-mph lefty; Cuban defector Aroldis Chapman. This could be huge!
