Take a look at my National Debt Clock to your right. It is approaching $12.4 trillion. That is the limit that the government can put us in debt by current law. It will reach that level in two or three weeks and the government will be out of money. To forgo that, the Senate is proposing that the limit be raised by another $1.9 trillion for a grand total of $14.3 trillion. They think that will take us past the next election cycle in November of this year. $14.3 trillion is the equivalent of our entire economy.
