January 2009 started off with a UC loss in the Orange Bowl and a 16 mm kidney stone compliments of Michelle-it passed. A real bad snow/ice storm hit and shut the city down for two or three days. Drew got a stress fracture in his foot. We switched over to Direct TV and started watching everything in HD. February was cold and snowy as usual though it ended on a warm note. I fought with racoons at my mothers house. There was a new dog in the Dupps household. March saw Joe get his drivers license. Sister Sharon brought my mother home. In April, Jack, not to be outdone by his mother, got a kidney stone of his own and spent some time in the hospital. In May, Frank & Shelley spent a week in Anna Maria with their XU friends and later visited the Big Apple with them; we visited the Fuhrmans in Florida and Andy and Missy went to Marco Island with the Kaups. My mother made her way to the nursing home. - Oh, yes, I finally got the garage doors up! In June, my mother went back home. Amy and Jeff put their house up for sale. In July, Ben went to cross country running camp. Frank and Shell had a big wet party on the Fourth. My mother went back to the hospital and then back to the nursing home. Lucy broke two bones in her arm and got a beautiful cast. Frank & Shell went back to Florida and the Fuhrmans came to visit. Amy & Jeff and family went to Kiawah for a week with five other families. July was cooler and wetter than usual. Scot, Stacey and family went to Cumberland for a week and then went on to Cincy for another week. In August we had moderate weather and my mother went back to hospital and then back to the nursing home. Jack broke a bone in his foot delaying the start of his football season. In September, we moved my mother to the assisted living area of the nursing home. At the end of the month she was back in the hospital. The Rechers were all having babies. Stacey was in training for a marathon. In October, mother was sent to intensive care. Sharon and Mike came back to town. My mom passed away on the 22nd. Stacey completed the Marine Corps Marathon with a 10:02 pace. In November, Ben's cross-country team made it to the Florida State Finals. Amy & Jeff sold their house and then didn't. Milo bit another of Missy's phones into oblivion. In December, I got contact lenses and had my eyebrows trimmed. We had Christmas at our house for the Ohio kids the week before. Scot ran his first marathon (in Jacksonville) and did well. We headed to Florida and were at Scot and Stacey's for Christmas. Frank and Shell went across the state to Anna Maria. I drove straight thru to get home for New Years Eve ... which I slept right through. Suzanne and Andy are under the weather. Be thankful for what you have ... trust 2010 will be even better.
