CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

The Bearcats, fresh off of their big win over UConn, played in South Florida on Wednesday and the Bulls gave them an ugly reception. The Cats lost 65-57 with an unispired effort.

The Musketeers are looking better and better. Jason Love had another strong game as they handled the St. Joe's Eagles in an 88-52 beatdown at Cintas Center. When Love is playing like this, they look like a solid tournament team.

The pitchers and catchers drifted into Goodyear, AZ this week for the start of spring training in the Cactus League with the first practice on Thursday. So far, so good!

Xavier stayed hot in the A-10 with a 81-67 win at Charlotte on Saturday. Jordan Crawford had 23 and Jamel McLean added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the rather easy win. The Muskies are now 19-7 and 10-2 in the league.

Cincinnati played a huge Big East game at home on Sunday against Marquette. They fell behind the Golden Eagles by 17 at one point in the first half yet let by six at halftime. In the second half, they battled but Marquette hit a three pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. In the extra period, the Bearcats got caught by some hot shooting and lost 79-76.
