CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

On Monday, Xavier moved into the Top 25 in the country for the first time this season.

Bengals wide receiver, Chad Ochocinco, will be a participant on the Dancing With The Stars TV program.

On Tuesday, the Bearcats played top-10 ranked Villanova at home and the outcome was like so many other games this season against top opponents. They had a good chance to win, led for part of the game, trailed by only two with seconds to go, but couldn't finish and lost 77-73.

The Musketeers were in the Big Apple on Wednesday to play little Fordham and they extended the Rams losing streak to 19 games with an 82-56 stomping. Jamel McLean had 16-points as everyone on the roster joined in the scoring.

The Reds opened Cactus League play on Friday by getting pounded 9-2 by the Indians in Goodyear, AZ. Nothing much matters at this time of the season except injuries and we're clear so far. They also announced Aaron Harang will again get the opening day start.

The Bengals released wide receiver Laveranues Coles. Could Terrell Owens be coming to town?

Cincinnati played Georgetown in their regular season finale on Saturday. With the President watching, the Hoyas blasted the Bearcats 74-47, their worst loss of the year. Lance Stephenson has 23 points and seven rebounds. UC's regular season record was a disappointing 16-14. Mick Cronin did get a vote of confidence yesterday from AD Mike Thomas . . . he'll be back next year.

Xavier ended their regular season with a game against St. Bonaventure at Cintas Center. It was Jason Love's finale home game. The Muskies won 93-72 and finished the regular season at 23-7. They also finish 14-2 in the A-10 and share the championship title with Temple.
