On Wednesday, the Bearcats played Weber State in the first round of the NIT at Fifth=Third arena. Deonta Vaughn had his best game of the year in scoring 16 points and dishing out seven assists in a 76-62 rout of the regular season champions of the Big Sky Conference. Lance Stephenson added 14 points for the Cats.
On Friday, the Musketeers played Minnesota of the Big Ten in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Xavier was too athletic for the Gophers and Jordan Crawford, the transfer from the Big Ten, was too hot for them to defend as he scored 28 points in the 65-54 win.
On Sunday, Xavier met Pittsburgh of the Big East in the second round of the Big Dance. The Muskies jumped out in front in the first half and held on thoughout. It was nip and tuck but XU knows how to finish and they did again, 71-68. How sweet it is!
