V-E DAY

Tomorrow is V-E Day. Remind yourself and your kids what that means. On this date in 1945, we declared victory in Europe and the end to World War II on that front. Not until September 2 did we declare victory in Japan and the end of the war. Also, these dates mark the beginning of the era in which the United States and the Soviet Union were the dominant world powers. That ended for the USSR in 1991 with its collapse. How long will it last for the USA? Not long I fear, since we are traveling the road to socialism which caused the demise of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
