Here starts a series on the Constitution of the United States of America
Preamble.
"We the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
Comment: I wish they had left out "promote the general Welfare" because this little clause is often referred to by those who want to expand the federal government beyond its original intent and increase intrusion on our personal lives. Those same folks would take away some of our "Blessings of Liberty" and think nothing of it.
Note that the people are forming the government. The government is not an everpresent god. It was formed of the people, by the people and for the people. Let's keep it that way.
