T.O. is g.o.n.e.
UC played Miami at Millet Hall in Oxford on Tuesday night. Local TV carried the UC women's game against Marshall but not this one...unbelievable. The Bearcats got off to a slow start but managed to avoid the fate Xavier had in this building a few weeks ago. Cincinnati pulled away midway through the first half and maintained a double digit lead throughout. The final was 64-48 with Dion Dixon leading the way with 23 points.
Xavier got tangled up with Gonzaga on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs were just too physical for the Muskies, beating the locals to almost every rebound in a 64-54 defeat.
The Bearcats rolled to 12-0 with a lopsided win over St. Francis of PA. It didn't even seem as close as the 94-58 score. Redshirt freshman Sean Kilpatrick had 21 points.
On Sunday, the Bengals brought their new winning 'streak' back to PBS and matched up against the Chargers. Carson Palmer played a near perfect game and the unpredictable Bengals blew out San Diego and ruined their playoff aspirations 34-20. Thick headed Jerome Simpson, who played for the injured Chad Ochocinco, was everywhere catching passes and the Chargers looked frozen in the snowy Cincinnati landscape.
This is the last Monday of the year and my last Monday report on Cincinnati Sports.
