THE BUDGET

We're going to see a power play this week. The budget needs to be increased in order for the federal government to keep doing everything it has been doing. The deadline for a new budget to be enacted is this coming Friday. The House of Representatives has passed a new budget amendment based on a bunch of cuts in spending. It's now on to the Senate. If it goes to the President in its present form, BHO can sign it into law or veto it if he thinks the cuts are too extensive or are not in the areas he prefers. Republicans who control the House want the President to make that tough decision. Then, until a compromise is worked out, the government would have to limit itself to operating only essential services...those having to do with defense of the country and the safety of it's citizens. That sounds like a good idea to me.
