STARS

We are into the Dog Days of Summer...that period when the constellation Canis Major (Big Dog) and it's major star, Sirius, is nearest the Sun.  The Dog Days end on the 11th of the month.

I'm serious, Sirius is the brightest star in the sky.

Soon comes the Perseids or Perseus meteor shower, so named because the meteors seem to come out of the constellation Perseus.  Perseus is the Greek Mythology hero who killed the infamous Medusa (who Andy sings about).   You can see meteors (shooting stars) almost every night or early morning in the week ahead with the peak being the 13th of the month.  Stay up and make a wish.

Personally, I've seen a meteor shower but I've never seen one take a bath.
