Whenever I'm sick or feel sick, I try to figure out 'why?'. I think it's a good idea. It can help you avoid future sickness. If other people tell me they are sick, I always ask why. Usually they have no idea and obviously gave it no thought.
So, if you feel sick with a cold or a headache or the like, something has stressed you and broken down your resistance. Always ask yourself, "Am I stressed? Why? Did I add to the stress by not eating or sleeping well?" The holidays are a bad time for stress. Don't add undue stress to your life. Enjoy it while it lasts.
