Recently, I lain in the dark in the wee hours of the morning listening to classical music. My mind raced from one subject to the next searching for deep thoughts that so often elude me. I only came up with this.
I've been to weddings in last few decades where the bride and groom recite their own vows (they didn't do that when I got married). Mostly they pick a mushy "I love you and will forever" type of thing. It nice and it fits the perspective of those getting married. At the time, mine would probably have been the same. Now, with the wisdom of age, I would use the following. Feel free to use it or recommend it to others as it is now no use to me.
"I only have one life to live and I choose to live it with you. May God bless us with children and grant us the years to enjoy their children."
It suits me perfectly...and He did.
