MATING SEASON

I've been able to walk around the lake at lunch much earlier and more often this year because of the mild weather.  I just want to report that the mallards that live at the lake are doing their 'thing'.  Almost all have paired up.  Instead of all sitting, sleeping and swimming in one area of the lake, they are spread out all over the place.  The males are chasing their partners unmercifully.  This is the surest sign of Spring.  We'll have a good crop of ducklings this year.
