July 4th, a local radio station took an on-air survey; asking callers if they wanted to hear the Declaration of Independence read aloud on the radio later that day. Most of the callers agreed and they did it. It reminded me that I used to read it to my kids when they were young. There was no survey - they just had to listen. At other times, I tortured them with the Gettysburg Address and the Preamble to the Constitution. These days, I suppose I would be totally out of touch with that kind of behavior.
