I thought I wouldn't play softball this year. I was almost sure I wouldn't. I didn't even go watch a game all year. Well, I did. The temperature was more to my liking and . . . they needed me. The team is now playing make-up games from rain-outs (I didn't know it rained all Summer). In any case, they were desperate and I was feeling frisky. I played catcher. I was 2 for 3 and scored two runs in five innings. Five innings because we run-ruled this weakly bunch by a 17-1 score. I'm disappointed in my old team, no one wanted to stay around and drink beer. These young guys just have too much going on. I'm sore. I hope I'm not sorry later today.
