We need to remind ourselves often that there is more than one way to look at something. I do that religiously. I never change my mind but it is a great exercise to try and see the other persons point of view.
I used to hate the rain because it could cancel my ball game or ruin my golf game. Sometimes it made driving a car more difficult, ruined a picnic or dampened a wedding. When I cut my own lawn, I hoped it wouldn't rain so the grass wouldn't grow.
Since I have new plants and trees in the yard, I'm more acutely aware of how much rain we are getting. It ain't much, I'll tell you. Now, I hope for rain to make it green-up and grow. What the heck, softball season is done for me. Lots of rain will help the crops grow, save the farmers and bring down food prices. Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain . . . but not flood.
It's all just our point of view.
