Saturday, we spent some time at Oktoberfest Zinzinnati. Its always an enjoyable time despite the crush of a large crowd. I'm more of a sissy beer drinker than what is offered at the fest . . . I prefer light American lager. In any case, a glass of dark ale with a mettwurst on pretzel bun loaded with sour kraut and brown mustard followed by a cream puff once a year is part of what Cincinnati is. I wore my visor with the hair implant . . . I'm sure I looked no worse than those walking around in chicken hats. We missed the annual chicken dance this year. It was led by ex-Red pitcher and perfect game thrower, Tom Browning. We were at the first one over thirty years ago. I think it was led by Uncle Al. Those were the days.
It was a glorious Ohio Valley fall day full of sunshine and crisp air. The wonderful capper was that the Reds clinched the division title that evening.
