FUKUSHIMA

In March of 2011, a huge earthquake hit Japan.  The people and the country are still recovering from it.

One part of this story wont go away.  The Japanese nuclear power plant at Fukushima was severely damaged during the incident.  To this date, there is radiation leakage from that plant which evidently cannot be stopped.  The total effects of this radiation are not known.  The following link brings you some eerie information.

Over twenty-six years ago, there was an explosion at the nuclear plant in Chernobyl, Ukraine (part of USSR) which resulted in a fire and extreme radiation expulsion.  This plant was totaly encapsulated in concrete; never to be used again.  The effects are being measured in cancer cases and birth defects. 

To this date, no one lives within 25 miles of the Chernobyl site.  The small island country of Japan may some day be as barren as this site in the Ukraine.
