One of the ironies of the situation in Syria is that the rebels who are fighting the government of President Assad are backed by Al Qaeda, the group responsible for the attack on 9-11-2001.  If we attack Assad in response to his use of weapons of mass destruction, we will be assisting the people who perpetrated that atrocity on us.
