On this date in 1889, one hundred and twenty-four years ago, a company was formed in Kyoto, Japan to make playing cards for the game of hanafuda.  It is called Nintendo Co., LTD.  Nintendo is now the third largest corporation in Japan and the largest consumer electronics game producer in the world.  It has a market valuation of over $85 billion.

Nintendo can be translated into English as "leave luck to heaven".  Good advice.
