UNEMPLOYMENT

Woe is me.  Not only are there eleven-million private sector workers without a job and eight-hundred-thousand government workers without a job, now we have a baseball manager without a job.  His contract, though, extends through the end of next season.

Dusty Baker is sixty-four years old.  Oh, Dear.   How is he going to find another employer willing to hire him full time AND give him health benefits.  He will just have to try and survive on the $3-4 million he will be paid next year for doing nothing.  Hopefully, he puts something aside for his retirement.

After next year, he'll have to contact the state healthcare exchange to see what his insurance cost will be.  If he works it right, I'm sure there are a lot of government programs that will be available to him.  He can apply for retraining, so he can find a job in another field. There is always Medicaid and food stamps. I think he'll be eligible for an Obamaphone.  Even though it sounded devastating when I first heard it, I now think he'll be able to survive.
