SNAILS AND SLUGS

Things, I'm sure, you always wanted to know.

Snails and slugs are really the same type of creature.  We call those with a shell, they live in water, snails.  Those without a shell we call slugs - these are land snails.  Water snails have gills and land snails, slugs, have a lung.

Snails have become a symbol of slowness (snail mail). Slugs are a symbol of laziness and inactivity.

Either can be eaten - some people consider them a delicacy.  Snails, slugs and their exudate is used in some cosmetic face creams.

Here is the part not to forget.  These little darlings have relatively long tongues on which they have thousands of teeth.  They use the tongue like a saw to take in food.
