I'm not a gambler by any standard but I am interested in sports betting. I have a tip for you. The next time a large snow event sweeps across the nation, find a bookie who takes NFL wagers and bet the 'over' on all effected games.
If you're not versed on NFL betting, you can bet on either team to win a game and you can bet whether the total of their scores is over or under a set amount (o/u). In either case, the odds are 10/11 (an $11 bet pays $21 total if you win). Last Sunday, the following took place.
Indianapolis @ Cincinnati o/u 43.5 points actual score 42-28 = 70 points
Minnesota @ Baltimore o/u 41.5 points actual score 29-26 = 55 points
Kansas City @ Washington o/u 44 points actual score 45-10 = 55 points
Cleveland @ New England o/u 47.5 points actual score 27-26 = 53 points
Oakland @ New York Jets o/u 39 points actual score 37-27 = 64 points
Detroit @ Philadelphia o/u 51 points actual score 34-20 = 54 points
Miami @ Pittsburgh o/u 40.5 points actual score 34-28 = 62 points
Tennessee @ Denver o/u 50 points actual score 51-28 = 79 points
Dallas @ Chicago o/u 49 points actual score 45-28 = 73 points
By betting the 'over' you would have won every one of the cold weather games last weekend. It could happen again this weekend. Just sayin' . . .
