RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

QUOTATIONS

Oscar Levant was a Jewish American comedian, actor, pianist and composer who died in 1972.  He worked with Al Jolson and George Gershwin on radio.  He composed music for over twenty movies.  His quick wit brought him to a popular radio quiz show called "Information Please" and later to an NBC panel show called "Who Said That?"  In the 1960's, he had his own nationally syndicated TV interview show; but alas, he eventually was fired because of his acerbic and off-color humor.

I mention this because he gifted us with the following beautiful quotes that are some of my favorites:   "There's a fine line between genius and insanity.  I have erased this line."  And another time he said, "What the world needs is more geniuses with humility; there are so few of us left."

I couldn't have said it better myself.
