GIFTS

Not only do I hate to receive gifts, I hate to give them when I feel forced into it.

Who made up Valentines Day, anyway?  Esther Price the candy lady from Dayton, Ohio in 1926?  Joyce Hall who started Hallmark Cards in 1910?  Esther Howland who made the first Valentine cards in the US in 1847?  William Shakespeare who in 1600 first referenced it in his masterpiece, Hamlet?   Or maybe it goes all the way back to Geoffrey Chaucer who first related romantic love to this day back in 1382.  It certainly bares no relationship to St. Valentine.
