SUNDAY SERVICE

This week we hear the gospel story of the foreign woman who approached Jesus and asked him to heal her daughter who was taken over by a demon.   (There is an opportunity here to make a joke about teenage girls and their hormones, but I wont.)  The crux of the story is that Jesus at first ignored the woman but she asked again.  Then the disciples of Jesus advised him to send her away forcibly because she was making a nuisance of herself.   The woman persisted and asked again.

Jesus finally told the woman that her daughter was healed because of her obvious faith in Him.  This is a lesson about prayer - show your faith by being persistent.  Believe! and it will be given.
