When I was a kid, only sailors had tattoos. My Uncle Earl, who was a Cincinnati policeman and a Korean War Navy veteran had ship tattoos on each arm. He never wore short sleeve shirts out in public no matter how hot it was. My aunt Joyce told me that I was the only one she knew who he let see his tattoos. There was nothing wrong with them, just ships, but he was very embarrassed that he had them.
