My wife has a thing (well, she has many things) about our front door. She likes to adorn it with seasonal decorations. You know, something for Christmas in December, something about the harvest in October, something with hearts in February - you get the picture. Usually these things are wreaths or bouquets or signs. Well, last fall she came home with a huge Masonite board which was supposed to be a pumpkin.
I didn't like the "pumpkin" at all. It was heavy and clunked against the door each time you opened or closed it. If that wasn't enough, it is an albino pumpkin and has a scare crow acting like a witch flying a broom hanging on it. Who ever heard of a white pumpkin? I couldn't wait until the Christmas wreath went up.
Knowing that I hated it, this week she came to me and asked if I could glue legs on the albino pumpkin so she can set it out in the yard this year. She follows that up with, "If you can't, I'll give it to one of the kids. They all want it." I was ready to dare her to do just that but, as usual, I succumbed to her wishes. I cut pieces of wood, pointed them and drilled and screwed them into the back. If you get to our house this Fall, look for the albino pumpkin in the front yard.
