To make things even worse, face masks on helmets were just coming into use in 1955. Not everyone on our team had one. That could be why all the parts of my face do not seem to be in the right position.

WHEN I WAS A KID
When I was a kid, I played football on our elementary school team for four years beginning in the fifth grade. Only one other kid did that. Today, putting fifth graders up against 8th graders sounds like child abuse. That could be why people think I have a screw loose sometimes. .
